City walking tour

On Thursday afternoon one of the teachers from the college took us on a tour around the City of London.

First we took the Tube (Northern Line) and when we alighted (= got off) we were on the south side of the River Thames.

We saw Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral and the new skyscraper called the Shard in a distance.

On our way back via London Bridge we were shivering a lot because of the icy temperatures. Our guide also seemed to have problems with the frosty temperatures because we was very much in a hurry.

Furthermore we passed an interesting-looking building which was used as movie scene background for Batman's "Gotham City". Watch the pictures carefully and you will find out which one it is.
We found the site of St Dunstan's Church near the Monument which is now a ruin, and a very quiet place in the middle of busy London.
But it was too cold to take rest, so we hurried on to follow our guide...
